TEN HAG SPEAKS ON RONALDO’S FUTURE

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is not available for a transfer this summer according to new manager Erik Ten Hag. The Dutchman talked about Ronaldo in his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the preseason friendly game with rivals Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand. Cristiano Ronaldo is a major absentee for the Red Devils on their tour of Asia and Australia with the Portuguese international linked with a move away from the club. To this effect, the five-time Ballon d’or winner dominated the aforementioned press conference.

On Ronaldo, Ten Hag told media practitioners that Manchester United are planning for the new season and he’s looking forward to working with the former Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon attacking talent. He added that the target is to achieve success together. On reports that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United after just one season following his return to the club last summer, the Dutch tactician said the Portuguese national team skipper has not informed him about his bid to leave the club and that he only read about it. He went on to say Ronaldo is not for sale.

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a lot of clubs since news broke about his intention to leave the Theatre of Dreams following the failure to qualify for Champions League football at the end of last season. He has been linked with clubs such as Chelsea, Napoli, AS Roma and Bayern Munich. Despite the numerous transfer rumours of a move away from Manchester United this summer, no bid has been received for Ronaldo.

Five-time Champions League winner is keen to play Champions League football in the new season and Manchester United can’t offer him this after they finished sixth last season with Ronadlo finishing as their topscorer on 24 goals in all competitions. Manchester United will have to settle for Europa League football and Ronaldo will have to play in the competition if he stays at the club for the final year of his contract.
