Cristiano Ronaldo’s status as Portugal’s football saviour is coming into question ahead of the World Cup. The 37-year-old has seen his role change at Manchester United this season after falling down the pecking order under new head coach Erik ten Hag. With the World Cup in Qatar coming up, Ronaldo is facing an unusual situation by his own high standards.
According to Sky Sports, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has approached Napoli to offer them the chance to sign the five time Ballon d’Or winner. Mendes has been working around the clock for a while now in order to find the solution his client wants, which is to be playing in the Champions League. He is also tasked with finding a solution for United, which is a replacement if Ronaldo was to be sold. The latest deal proposed by Mendes is for Ronaldo to move to Napoli, and striker Victor Osimhen to move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is not available for a transfer this summer according to new manager Erik Ten Hag. The Dutchman talked about Ronaldo in his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the preseason friendly game with rivals Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand. Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the three players dropped from the 26-man squad for the game. Santos told reporters in his pre-match presser ahead of the game in Geneva thatthe decision to drop Ronaldo and two others stemmed from management rather than injury.
